November 14th--There's a 6 year old in the house!

It's sometimes hard to believe, but Erik is now 6. He was so excited for all facets of his birthday, including the fact that he got to go to school. At school, he brought a snack for his classmates (graham crackers and apple slices, his choice); got to have his favorite, math workshop; Carl came to help out for math; and he had a birthday wish circle, where all of his classmates said a wish for him.

Here he is first thing in the morning:

Gramma and Grampa came over for dinner and presents before Awana. Erik had a great time with them--and of course he enjoyed opening presents! Anders was an active part of it all, too, especially enjoying the present (a Lego set) that he picked out for Erik.

He found a favorite--he couldn't help but read The Scrambled States of America before opening anything else. (He also got Do Unto Otters by the same author.)

And clay is always a popular gift with Erik

Erik had also invited the Awana Sparkies to come to club early and play games with him in the gym, then eat some cake. He had a great time!

Erik had a great birthday!
