It was box day at One Big Sky. I was filling in for our assistant, who was on vacation, and Teri was leading. She brought several larger boxes, and the kids had an amazing time fashioning them into a rocket ship. It was so great to see them work together and use their imaginations in a totally undirected way. They used tape, tape, and more tape to decorate, along with yarn and crayons. They figured out how to expand one box to fit the three who wanted to sit in it, and they connected another large box with a huge strip of tape, to make it one ship.
They also packed in some great outside play, including "hide-and-seek-lemon", invented by Anders, painting, dress up, reading books, and snack and lunch. It was a full and very fun day.
