Santa Cruz beach

On Wednesday of our week at Mount Hermon, we took the old train into Santa Cruz, to the boardwalk. We're cheap, so we paid for the kids to ride the carousel, then spent the rest of the day at the beach. It warmed up nicely--it was warm and sunny at Mount Hermon when we left, so we didn't bring sweatshirts. Unfortunately, the fog hadn't lifted off of Santa Cruz yet, so it took awhile for us to get warm. Once we did, we all enjoyed the beach. Erik learned beginning body surfing, and spent about 4 hours in the water--he didn't take a single break. Anders enjoyed the water some, with lots of time in the sand to warm up from the water. CeeCee also liked both the water and the sand.

I was too busy making sure CeeCee didn't ingest too much sand to take any good pictures of Erik in the water. This is on the train on the way home, though. It's hard to tell from the angle, but he fell asleep!
