The Jungle Book

The afternoon brought the boys' performance of The Jungle Book. They've been taking a class since January at a local studio, Kids'N Dance. They've loved the class, and were very excited for the performance.

The stage

Erik as an elephant

Anders as an elephant

Anders as a jungle animal (next to the zebra)

Anders did the dances and sang the songs, but was too nervous to say his lines. After the show he said to me, "I wish I was King Louis..." when I asked him why, he said it was because he wanted more lines (or, lions, as he says). He did a great job, and had a lot of fun.

Erik, after being an elephant, was Shere Khan for the rest of the show. He is completely over any stage fright, and did a fantastic job with his lines, with the acting, and with the songs/dance.

His favorite part: singing "That's what friends are for" at the end of the song of the same name.

Running away

Anders exulting in being able to throw "coconuts" at Erik!

Anders as a tree

Dancing in the last song, a reprise of Bear Necessities

Wow! That's awesome! It's great to see Erik over his stage fright, too. They both look adorable. What fun!
