June 22nd--The Lion King musical

We had the privilege of watching a most wonderful performance of The Lion King. It had scenery, lines, songs, and dance. Not quite a "professional" performance, however, as it was the end-of-the-week performance for Erik's first week of summer camp. He went to a 1 week camp at Kids'N Dance and enjoyed learning songs, making scenery, and dancing. At the end of the week, they had a performance for the parents.

Of course, Erik was wonderful. This wouldn't be a mommy blog without some bragging about my talented son. He loved it, which was absolutely clear from his face. (he's the lion with the blue glasses!)

Erik played Scar, and had quite a few lines to say. They prompted the kids extensively, though Erik got a lot of his lines with just a reminder word or two. The little girl who played Simba was absolutely adorable, and really quite good. All of the kids were fun to watch.

There are many, many more pictures in the Picasa album. It was a wonderful moment for us as parents to watch Erik shine with joy.
