August 12th--Perseid meteor shower

We set an alarm and got up at 2am so we could watch the Perseid meteor shower. Amazingly, there was no fog and the sky was perfectly clear.


Erik was thrilled to be able to watch the stars. He saw one shooting star, but then was too busy making up new constellations, and he didn't catch any of the others that Carl and I saw. We sat outside for about 40 minutes.

Now we're excited for the lunar eclipse at the end of the month.
