The family plan had been to travel to Lake Tahoe on Thursday, and stay until Friday night. However, a major snowstorm moved through on Thursday, so we stayed home. Carl couldn't resist the draw of fresh snow, so on Friday he, Grampa, and the boys went driving. Their plan was to drive as far as they could without chains, and then see if they could find a place to play.
As it happened, they didn't have very far to go, at least comparitively. They stopped at a rest stop at only 2000 ft, to find 6-7 inches of snow. They played for 2 hours, drove back to Auburn (20 min away) to eat at In'n'Out, then drove home.
