The U6 has one meeting a week. For the first half (30 minutes), they have practice. The second half is games, with 3 kids per side and no goalie.
Erik doing some drills
He loved the drills part. The game time was very hard for him. He started off OK
but he quickly started doing this
He did not want to play, and when he was on the field he wanted to just stand. It turns out he felt like all the other kids were much faster than him. He and Carl had a good talk about how he could practice getting faster by running during the week, or he could practice playing smarter and figuring out how to play well even if he wasn't the fastest. With a lot of encouragement, he stayed with it the whole time. It probably didn't help that Saturday was one of the busiest days we'd had in a long time.
Anders, on the other hand, was oblivious to soccer after a little while. First, he found the dirt.
After awhile of playing with the dirt, he moved on to, well, muddier pastures

Could Erik be any cuter in his uniform! Awww! Good job Erik!
Oh - BTW - Jojo was a soccer star in HS, so he's very excited for Erik to play.
