September 23rd--GOOOOOOAAAAL!!!

Erik had his second soccer game in the afternoon. Carl, Anders, and CeeCee all stayed home and rested (Anders didn't nap, but the other two did :), and Erik and I went to the game. He was much more into it this week--he understood what was expected of him, and we'd talked about how you didn't have to be the fastest, you could still do a good job playing.

During practice

During the second "game" (they are 10 minutes long, 3 kids on a team, and no goalie), Erik scored two goals! He was assertive without being too aggressive, as well as in the right place at the right time. As one of his teammates summed it up--"Erik saved the game for us!"

Right after scoring the second goal

It made for the perfect ending to the lesson we'd started earlier--you don't have to be the fastest in order to do well. Erik was so excited to see that it was true.

YEA Erik!!!!! Those of us who don't enjoy running 12 miles (sicko!) can be successful at sports too. :)
